She thinks that to find a man who is not governed by lust and can see right through her... So she finally put an ad seeking an Impotent man and that started the chase....

She finally met Architect David Frank who replied to her ad. And love blossom between the two of them.

You want to know more???

Well, read this book and I would like to remind you that there are some words and statements that are not suitable for very young people. A funny book that should be read not only women but as well as the men.

This book is sort of feminist in the form of a light, amusing novel, but – for the male readers – it is the question of whether modern women really know what they want from a man.

Movie Review: A Litte Princess

Director : Alfonso Cuaron

One afternoon while I was browsing the channels for show to watch the movie " A Little Princess" catch my attention . I immediately settle myself since I assume that this is same as the "Princess Sarah" that is being shown here in the Philippines.

The plot is the same as the cartoon " Princess Sarah" but the locations and some situations are different.

The story is all about the a girl who was sent to a boarding school in New York when her father must serve in World War I. The young girl learns that despite the bad treatment from the headmistress, she'll always be a Princess.

Sara Crewe, is a girl who is living a wonderful life in India. She spends her days creating a story about the princess and Indian Gods. But her life was shattered when his Father decided to go to war. Her father takes her to a boarding school in New York. It run by the evil spinster Miss Minchin. Sara haas the ability to create a story and her kindness was immediately recognize by the other girls. Among her best friends is Becky a black servant girl. Sara's life was turned into disaster when she heard the news that his father was dead. and sets up the darma in the movie as well as a predictable ending.

The movie have flaws but can be forgiven and it was well edited.

I can't forget the scene that Sara Crewe has to shout to Miss Minchin the words " Every girl everywhere is a princess regardless of what they wear and status".

This can be recommended to youngsters or to others who would like to watch something light and can be a tress buster at the same time.

Event Review - Cosplay Mania 2008

The highly anticipated and most awaited event of the year turned out to be a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT to Cosplayer fans. The event was held in a very small venue at Megatrade Hall 3, SM Megamall. The organizers of this event turned out to be "DISORGANIZERS"

Why?? because you cannot watch the cosplayers on the stage due to the fact that some fans are wasnt able to see the constestants, stage is very small, the hosts are not funny and the cosplay event did not start on time.

The judges are in the front which should be not and they are not funny with their corny antics. It is also a nightmare to walk around the venue because it is overcrowded. Also, the crowd favorite "Hard Gay" last Ozine fests and the best cosplayers are not around.

The event and the oragnizers did a lot of mess. They themed this as a COSPLAY MANIA 2008 but unfortunately this should be called as " COSPLAY MANIA NIGHTMARE". Well, this is the pre halloween party for all the cosplayers and fans.

Book Review - The Alchemist

Written by: Paolo Coelho

" The Alchemist " is a very exciting novel that isbursting with optimism and determination; it is a kind of novel that tells you that everything is possible as long as you really want it to happen. This book also tells that every person in this earth has " Personal Legend " and all you need to do is look for the path that God lay on you and fulfill it. Just think what you really want to be when you are still a child and you will know your " Personal Legend ".As the Old King says to Santiago before he left to look for his treasure " when you really want something, all the universe conspires to help you achieve it".

The main character of the story is a shepherd boy named Santiago. His dream is to travel and visit the places he's never been before and that is the reason why he chose to be a shepherd to fulfill and satisfy his dreams. He have some obstacles along the way but in the end he conquered, fulfilled his dreams and get the treasure he's been dreaming for quite sometime.

Fear of failure is the greatest obstacle to happiness. Some of us are afraid to fail and that's the reason why we feel miserable, empty and unsatisfied. Instead of remaining in this state the author want us to take the risks and put your dreams into your heart and a force will help you to achieve your dreams.

" The Alchemist" is a novel that have an appeal to everybody because we can all identify with Santiago; all of us have dreams and dying to achieve it. This book is a must read for all those people who are experincing the "Quarter Life" Crisis or at the crossroads now and don't know what to do with their lives.

The novel combines words of wisdom, philosophy and simplicity of life which makes it readable to all ages and best selling status.

Anime Review - Eyeshield 21

Eyeshield 21 is a manga about American football written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. This has been adapted as an anime television series in 2005. This is currently being shown at Hero TV channel 44 for Sky cable from Mondays though Fridays, 12 PM to 12:30 Pm and 8:30 PM to 9:00PM.

The plot of Eyeshield 21 revolves to a boy who is always bully by the tough guys in school. Sena Kobayakawa enters the high school of his choice, Deimon Private Senior High School, where his childhood friend Mamori Anezaki is currently studying. Because he always run away from the bullies at school he developed an intense agility and speed. Because of his ability to run fast and the agility, he cathes the attention of the American football team captain Yoichi Hiruma who forces Sena to join the Deimon Devil Bats as its running back.

To protect his identity and to prevent other teams from recuiting him Sena is forced to publicly assume the role of the secretary and enter the filed wearing a helmet equipped with green tinted eyeshield in order to hide his features. The team also grow as the series continue. They have recruited other members because of the blackmailing ability of Yoichi.

All in all this series is like the anime " Slam Dunk". There are funny antics that come from the villains and of course from the Deimon Devil Bats Team. Fast paced anime, with a lot of action and no fillers. All the members of the team have their own abiltities and distinctive personalities. This anime have no dull moments and it's nice to see something like this with so much raw and passion.

Anime Review - Death Note

The series centers on Light Yagami, a high school student and who accidentally picked the notebook dropped by Ryuuk ( Shinigami God/Death God) on Earth. He discovers the power of the notebook that allows him to kill the person by seeing his/her face and knowing the name. There are rules on the Death Note and you have to follow it diligently so that it will be effective. The series begins when Light Yagami decided to rule and create a new world with no evil.

The anime is dark, a war between the good and evil and dangerous. If the kids will watch this anime the parents should be at their side since there are scenes that are not suitable for the children and needs explanations.

But for the adults who like to think and analyze things this anime is for you. This is meant to be all about enjoying the plot twists and psychological warfare. This is not your "normal-fight style" . You will be amaze on how the characters battle and outwit each other especially the battle between Light and L, the manipulation of Ryuuk, ( Death God ) etc.

The first time I heard about this anime I just shrug. But when Igot a copy and watch this over the weekend, I became hooked on it and can't wait to see the ending. The stroy is fast paced and you'll not get bored because you will keep on thinking what will happen next.

To those who want to watch something different this is definitely fo you.

Book Review - MacArthur

Isa itong manipis at kulay pulang libro.

..............

Movie Review - Dayo: Sa Mundo ng Elementalia

Last December 26, 2008 , my roomie and I went to Glorietta to watch the movie “ DAYO: Sa Mundo ng mga Elementalia”. We've been rooting for this movie since it was press release. Ang sabi nga namin eh " Love and Support your Own".

This a must-see movie for everyone and should not be missed. Animation is good and can be at par to Walt Disney's. There are still flaws and areas that need improvements but this is a good start for the Filipino animation industry.

No offense meant to the artists who have give life to movie's characters, they are good but it will be much livelier if the voices are from the "PROFESSIONAL DUBBERS", who have extensive experience in the dubbing industry.....

Nakita at napapanood ninyo naman ang mga anime, koreanovelas atbp na ang nag dub ay ang mga "PRO" tlaga... Sobrang Lively at nakakatuwa....

The characters used in this film are from the Filipino legends and folklores like the kapre, tikbalang, tiyanak, engakanto etc... This is a 100% Pinoy and to top it all, Ms. Lea Salonga sang the OST " LIPAD" in the movie. The movie used catchy, funny and simple lines for the children to understand and to follow easily the flow of the story.

My roomie and I laughed out loud when Narsi told to Anna and Bubuy, when they jump to the lake, that " Isa kong tikbalang di isang sea horse". There are funny moments pero mahirap explain dito kasi baka maging corny pag nilagay ko pa dito. Panoorin n'yo na lang....

The story is simple and if you appreciate simple things, this movie is for you. A feel good movie that SHOULD BE watch by children. Let us support the Filipino Animators and maybe in the future, we can compete to giants and larger than life animation studios like PIXAR and WALT DISNEY.....
